Have you given up on God?

This is what my wife asked me last night.

After posting scripture related stories on my website for over 160 consecutive days, I just stopped posting. And I stopped going to Church.

Perhaps I owe everyone an explanation.

I had all my teeth removed June 10 and have struggled (understatement!) to learn how to eat with false teeth.

I’m not doing very well.

I’ve lost 26 pounds so far (in 42 days) and have completely lost my appetite as well. People tell me my dentures look “good” and that the weight I’ve lost makes me look “good”.

But I am not “good.”

I am at the lowest weight of my adult life and suffer sleepless nights. I’ve discovered the only thing worse than not being able to sleep is having nothing to look forward to when I’m awake.

But, my answer to her question was “no”. I have not given up on God.

I do wonder what God’s plan for me is and it certainly hasn’t matched my own plans, but I still trust his wisdom that what is happening is best for me and I will continue to write and to try to eat and love Him.

Maybe this trial I’m suffering will result in a story or a novel that will bring His word to someone’s life and maybe even salvation.

Maybe even these words will have an impact on someone.

I hope and pray that you will be feeling better soon. I can certainly relate to the “nothing to look forward to” and “what is God’s plan for me.” I often have the same struggles.

I agree with Traci and can also relate. I am suddenly finding myself on the other side of a trial. I have a lot to say and share about it, as our ‘color’ is returning stronger and brighter than before, but for now, i pray the same for you every day, several times a day!

I have had the great pleasure to work with your wife. She is an amazing lady. She talked about you and her kids continuously. Her faith is strong, helped me get through so much. She will help you get through this. God is so faithful, there is another great story that will come out of this. When you are not strong God will carry you through. Dont loose faith, or hope, and dont loose sight of that great talent you have.. I will pray for you, for your strength.

Hi, first of all I want to thank Kristine for posting your stuff on her FB. I haven’t read the story she posted yet but I’m taking her word that it’s good and I’ll get around to reading it soon, Lord willing!
I’m sorry that you are going through it with the false teeth right now (this too shall pass) I’m worried about that day for myself also!
Anyway, I’m listening to a tape called Experiencing God by Henry T Blackaby an Claude V. King and it’s really helping me to put God’s will into perspective. I got it off ebay for under 2 dollars. Well worth it!
Well, thanks again for posting and to Kristine for sharing!
